Jesus Youth Co-Founder Fr. Abraham Pallivathukal, SJ, Passes Away at 86

KOZHIKODE: Reverend Father Abraham Pallivathukal, SJ, a Jesuit priest and one of the pivotal founding members of the international Catholic youth movement ‘Jesus Youth’, passed away early this morning, June 20, 2026. He was 86 years old.
According to official communications, Fr. Abraham breathed his last at 3:00 a.m. at Christ Hall in Malaparamba, Kozhikode. He had been a member of the Society of Jesus (SJ) for 68 years.

Fr. Abraham is widely remembered for his enduring contributions to the spiritual growth and faith formation of young people. As a founding figure and the movement’s animator from its very inception, his dedicated ministry shaped the lives of countless youth globally through the Jesus Youth movement.
