Young Participants Share Transformative Experiences from CHALO Majerburi 2026

Guwahati, June 8: Participants of CHALO Majerburi 2026 have described the national mission exposure programme as a life-changing journey that strengthened their faith, broadened their understanding of the Church and inspired them to embrace a missionary way of life.

The twelve-day programme, organised by Jesus Youth Teens Ministry India, brought together 26 teenagers from different parts of the country for spiritual formation and mission exposure in Assam. Beyond the structured sessions and training, it was the personal encounters and experiences during the mission phase that left a lasting impression on many participants.

Inba Fedrick from Tamil Nadu highlighted the deep spiritual impact of the retreat. He said that the Confession and Inner Healing sessions were particularly meaningful and helped him experience God’s love in a profound way. Reflecting on the mission exposure, he described it as an unforgettable experience marked by the warmth, hospitality and strong faith of the people he met.

“The people, the peace and the faith I witnessed there will always remain in my heart. Chalo Majerburi is one of the best memories of my life,” he shared, adding that Jesus Youth has helped him grow closer to Jesus in his daily life.

For Eurieca Banylla Wahlang from Meghalaya, the programme offered an opportunity to step beyond familiar surroundings and discover new dimensions of faith and service. She said the experience helped her become more open to God’s call and taught her the importance of surrendering to His will.

According to Eurieca, one of the most enriching aspects of the programme was living among communities different from her own and witnessing how God works in diverse situations and cultures. The mission exposure helped her realise that missionary life begins with a willingness to serve wherever God places a person.

Participants also spoke of the friendships they formed with fellow teenagers from different states, the joy of living in community and the lessons learned from local families who welcomed them into their homes. Many noted that the experience expanded their understanding of the Church as a diverse yet united community of believers.

Through village visits, interactions with children and youth, participation in parish activities and moments of prayer, the young missionaries gained firsthand experience of faith in action. The programme encouraged them to return home with renewed enthusiasm to serve in their parishes, schools and local communities.

As CHALO Majerburi 2026 came to a close, participants carried with them not only memories of their time in Assam but also a deeper conviction to live as missionary disciples and witnesses of Christ in their everyday lives
