Lifestyle Orientation Program ‘Choice’ Held in Bengaluru to Prepare Youth for Marriage and Vocation

Bengaluru, June 14: Jesus Youth India’s Family Stream organized a three-day Lifestyle Orientation Program in English titled “Choice” from June 12 to 14 in Bengaluru. The national-level initiative aimed at preparing young people for the Sacrament of Matrimony while fostering discernment toward building Christ-centered, witnessing families. The program brought together 21 participants from across India, including Delhi, Kanpur, Visakhapatnam, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bengaluru, and Kerala, reflecting its diverse national participation.

The sessions covered a wide spectrum of themes addressing the spiritual, emotional, psychological, and practical dimensions of married life and Christian vocation. Key topics included the call to marriage and religious life, discernment, preparation for marriage, marriage as a covenant and sacrament, communication and conflict management, and the psychology of men and women. Additional sessions explored areas such as dating, sexuality, bedroom ethics, natural family planning, pro-life teachings, theology of the body, time and financial management, and inner healing and forgiveness.

The program also addressed contemporary family realities, including early parenting, relationships with in-laws, and challenges faced by families in a rapidly changing world. Participants were introduced to the vision and mission of the Jesus Youth Family Stream.

A significant highlight of the program was the series of family panel discussions, where experienced couples shared insights into family spirituality, communication, and bonding. These sessions offered participants practical, real-life perspectives on building strong and faith-filled relationships. The program was further enriched through testimonies, interactive discussions, personal sharing by resource couples, and one-on-one spiritual guidance. Participants appreciated the experiential approach, which emphasized lived examples over theoretical inputs.

Many participants described the program as transformative, noting that it provided clarity in discerning life decisions, particularly in choosing a life partner. Several also shared that they experienced personal healing and a deeper trust in God’s guidance for their future.

The National Choice team highlighted that such initiatives reflect the ongoing mission of Jesus Youth to accompany young people in their vocational journeys through prayerful discernment and creative pastoral outreach. These efforts, though often conducted quietly, play a vital role in forming faith-filled families committed to living out Christian values in society. The event concluded with participants expressing heartfelt gratitude to the coordinators, volunteers, and resource families for their dedicated efforts in making the program a spiritually and practically enriching experience.
