In a moment of immense joy and thanksgiving, Fr. Mathew Jacob Pallivathukal was ordained to the priesthood for the Jesus Youth Movement and officially incardinated into the St. Thomas Syro-Malabar Eparchy of Chicago on May 23, 2026.
This sacred occasion marks a significant milestone for the Jesus Youth Movement, as Fr. Mathew becomes the fifth priest ordained for the mission, reflecting the movement’s continued growth and commitment to nurturing vocations in service of the Church.
The ordination stands as a testimony to God’s abundant blessings and the dedication of those responding to His call.

Dcn Mathew Jacob Pallivathukal
Mathew Jacob was born and raised in Kerala, India. He studied engineering at Rajagiri College and spent about eight years working in Kochi and New York before discerning his calling to the priesthood.
In his teens, Mathew became actively involved in Jesus Youth and participated in various ministries focused on teens, campus, and professionals, both in India5 and the USA.
He is currently completing his studies at St. Vincent de Paul Regional Seminary in Florida, USA.
His late father, Jacob Mathew, was a devoted church member. Mathew’s mother and elder sister live in India, while his younger sister resides in Canada.
