Fr. Cherian Nereveettil Memorial: Dr. Fathima Asla Wins ‘Apoorva Inspiring Young Woman Award
Maradu: Dr. Fathima Asla has been selected for the Apoorva Inspiring Young Woman Award, instituted by St. Gianna Church, Maradu, in memory of late Fr. Cherian Nereveettil and Fathima Asla, recognizing outstanding contributions in youth and media-related fields.
Despite battling Osteogenesis Imperfecta, a rare genetic disorder, and overcoming challenging circumstances, Dr. Fathima Asla has emerged as a notable homeopathy doctor, motivational speaker, social media influencer, author, and social activist.
The award carries a cash prize of ₹25,000 and a citation. It will be presented today at 6 p.m. during the Fr. Cherian Nereveettil memorial event at St. Gianna Church, Maradu. Maradu Municipal Chairperson Ajitha Nandakumar will present the award.
The function will be inaugurated by Tripunithura Forane Vicar Fr. Joseph Thamaraveli, while Deepika Kochi Resident Manager Fr. Joseph Koluthuvellil will lead the memorial Mass. Dr. Franklin John, Principal of Deva S.H. College, will introduce the award recipient during the event.
