Jesus Youth to Host Historic Ruby Jubilee Gathering ‘ONE – A Gathering of Generations’ at Kalamassery

KALAMASSERY, KERALA— Marking four decades of global missionary outreach and celebrating a landmark ecclesial recognition, Jesus Youth Kerala has announced a leadership gathering titled “ONE – A Gathering of Generations.” The four-day event is scheduled to take place from 18 December 2026 to 21 December 2026 at Rajagiri Public School, Kalamassery, Kerala.

Guided by the central theme “One in Spirit. One in Fellowship. One in Mission,” the gathering will convene pioneers, experienced leaders, and emerging youth leaders from across eras for a focused period of thanksgiving, fellowship, reflection, and discernment.

About the Gathering

Our movement is blessed with a story that spans generations — a story of young people encountering Christ, growing in faith, building communities, and carrying the Gospel into the world. What began in Kerala in 1985 has, through the grace of God and the dedication of countless people, grown into a Catholic movement.

As we celebrate forty years of this journey, we also stand at a significant moment in the life of the movement. The definitive approval of the revised statutes by the Holy See marks an important step in our ecclesial journey and invites us to embrace our identity and mission with renewed maturity.

ONE – A Gathering of Generations is an initiative of Jesus Youth Kerala, bringing together pioneers, experienced leaders, and emerging leaders for a time of thanksgiving, fellowship, reflection, and discernment. From 18 December 2026 to 21 December 2026 , we come together as one family to celebrate the grace that has brought us this far and to listen to where the Lord is calling us next.

Why ONE, Why Now?

The Ruby Jubilee is not merely a celebration of the years gone by; it is an invitation to remember the grace, sacrifices, prayer, and missionary commitment through which the movement has grown.

The definitive approval of our revised statutes is not simply an institutional milestone; it is a call to deeper responsibility, communion, and fidelity to the charism entrusted to us. At this moment, we are invited to hold together gratitude for our past, clarity about our present, and hope for the future.

ONE seeks to reconnect generations, renew our shared identity, and discern how the movement can respond generously to the call of the Church and the needs of the world. As we look towards the Great Jubilee of Redemption in 2033 and the Golden Jubilee of Jesus Youth in 2035, this gathering becomes an opportunity to listen, discern, and prepare for the journey ahead.

Two Milestones. One Journey.

• FORTY YEARS OF GRACE – THE RUBY JUBILEE: Celebrating the journey that began in Kerala in 1985: the people, communities, prayer, sacrifices, and missionary initiatives through which God has shaped Jesus Youth across generations and nations.
• A NEW CHAPTER IN OUR ECCLESIAL JOURNEY – DEFINITIVE APPROVAL: Giving thanks for the Holy See’s definitive approval of the movement’s revised statutes in October 2026, and embracing with renewed commitment our identity and responsibility as a private association of the faithful with juridical personality.

The Three Dimensions

• ONE IN SPIRIT: Returning to the source of our journey: a personal encounter with Jesus Christ, rooted in prayer, the Word of God, and the sacraments, and guided by the Holy Spirit.
• ONE IN FELLOWSHIP : Celebrating the bonds that unite generations, listening to one another’s stories, honouring the contribution of those who came before us, and welcoming those who will carry the mission forward.
• ONE IN MISSION: Renewing our commitment to evangelisation, discerning the needs of the Church and the world, and responding together with missionary courage and generosity.

The Vision and Message

The vision of the gathering is to become a generation of Jesus Youth leaders who are deeply rooted in Christ and the charism of the movement, united across generations, mature in their ecclesial identity, and passionately committed to the mission of evangelisation — ready to journey together towards 2035.

As organizers conveyed in their concluding declaration:
