JESUS YOUTH WITH POPE LEO XIV: THE JOY OF THE GOSPEL, A LIVING FRIENDSHIP, A HOPE FOR THE WORLD – A message from Bishop Dumas

“On the occasion of Jesus Youth’s meeting with Pope Leo XIV, a pastoral reflection and personal testimony about a missionary family whose faith finds expression in fellowship and solidarity.

On Saturday, October 24, 2026, in the Paul VI Audience Hall at the Vatican, Pope Leo XIV welcomed the leaders and delegates of Jesus Youth International. This first meeting of the movement, gathered with its representatives around the Successor of Peter, marked an important milestone in the celebration of its forty-year journey. It also renewed an essential calling: to remain rooted in Christ and bring his love to the world.

This encounter touches me personally. When I think of Jesus Youth, I recall faces, families, gestures of friendship, and moments of prayer. I have known these brothers and sisters for many years and have always loved, admired, appreciated, and supported them. They have become part of my life.”
