Houston Hosts ‘Beloved JY Family Retreat’ Fostering Renewal and Marital Enrichment HOUSTON
The first installment of the three-part “Beloved JY Family Retreat” series concluded over Labor Day weekend at St. Joseph Syro-Malabar Catholic Church in Houston, bringing together nineteen married couples for an intensive spiritual renewal program.
Held from September 5 to 7, the weekend gathered participants for joint prayer, guided reflection, and fellowship designed to strengthen sacramental marriage amid modern everyday pressures. The sessions were led by resource speakers Mr. Manoj Sunny and Dr. Beena Manoj, who directed couples through themes of spousal communication, mutual healing, and recentering Christ within the domestic church.
Participants described the experience as a vital opportunity to pause from work and family obligations, rediscover foundational relationship values, and experience spiritual reconciliation.
The gathering marks the opening segment of the Jesus Youth movement’s wider family renewal initiative, with organizers planning two subsequent retreats to support and enrich Catholic family life in the region.
