A Synodal Movement in Mission – Fruits of the Listening to the Movement Journey

This is the fruit of a grace-filled journey over the past two years, during which our movement across the world entered into a process of deep listening — to one another and to the Holy Spirit. It represents a consolidation and discernment of all we have heard, offering a clear sense of where the Lord is leading us. We believe it marks a genuine turning point for our movement.

It invites us into a deeper conversion in three key areas — Life & Communion, Systems, and Mission — helping us recognise what God desires for us in this new phase of our journey.

This is not the conclusion of the process — it is a new beginning. The most important step still lies ahead. As a movement, we are called to prayerfully engage with this document and discern what the Holy Spirit is speaking to us in our own contexts. We strongly encourage every country and region to take this forward with intention:

  • Create spaces for reflection and dialogue at all levels
  • Prayerfully discern the key priorities emerging for your context
  • Identify the major areas of focus for the coming years
  • Move toward concrete short-term and long-term plans rooted in this discernment

This step is essential — so that what has been heard globally may truly take life locally.

We also take this moment to express our sincere gratitude to all who have journeyed with us: those who participated in listening sessions, facilitated conversations, consolidated insights, and contributed at every stage. Your openness and generosity have made this journey possible.

A special word of thanks to Soji Joseph, Ammu Zachariah, Jose Jacob, Lijo Varghese, Mathew Thomas, and all who worked tirelessly over the past two years to coordinate this synodal journey.

May we make listening a living culture in the everyday life of our movement — listening to the Word, to the Holy Spirit, and to one another — so that together we may anticipate and embrace the wonderful things the Lord has prepared for us.
