With every share, post and forward, they proudly declare their patriotism, as if their digital bravado is enough to take down entire nations.

Their war cries are amplified by doctored images and videos, fueling a frenzy of jingoism that would put even the most seasoned politician to shame.

Meanwhile, the actual soldiers on the ground, risking life and limb to protect the nation, remain largely unsung heroes. But on social media, these armchair generals are the real MVPs (Most Valuable Patriots).

Their logic is simple: war = victory = national pride.

Never mind the countless lives lost, including two children of the Christ school in Poonch, the families torn apart, or the economic devastation that follows.

Those are just minor details, irrelevant to the grand narrative of patriotism.

As the drums of war beat louder, it’s worth asking: are we ready for the real consequences of conflict? Or are we too busy liking and sharing our way to victory?

Let’s hope our leaders are wiser than our keyboard warriors. After all, peace is not just a hashtag; it’s a necessity.
