Leo Thaddeus’ Malayalam Film ‘The Soul Whisperer’ (Chevittorma) Graces Red Carpet at 31st Busan International Film Festival

BUSAN, SOUTH KOREA — Marking a proud milestone for Malayalam cinema on the global stage, director Leo Thaddeus and the team behind Chevittorma (The Soul Whisperer) made a striking appearance on the red carpet at the 31st Busan International Film Festival (BIFF).

Dressed in traditional Kerala attire, the delegation captured significant attention from international media and thousands of global film enthusiasts gathered at Asia’s premier cinema event. Chevittorma holds the distinct honor of being the sole Malayalam film selected for this year’s edition of the festival.

Written and directed by Leo Thaddeus, the film is gearing up for its world premiere. Leading the delegation on the red carpet alongside Thaddeus were prominent actors Dileesh Pothan, Pauly Valsan, and Stan Stephen, accompanied by producers Stephen Zacharias and Logan Ravi.

The film is scheduled to be screened on October 8 under BIFF’s prestigious “A Window on Asian Cinema” section, cementing another notable achievement for Malayalam cinema on the world stage.
