Holy See Grants Plenary Indulgence for Jesus Youth USA’s 25th Jubilee Conference, UPSTREAM

NORTH CAROLINA — In a momentous spiritual milestone coinciding with the Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Holy See, through the Apostolic Penitentiary in Rome, has officially granted a plenary indulgence to participants of UPSTREAM, the 25th Jubilee Year Conference of Jesus Youth USA.

The decree comes following a formal petition submitted by Bishop Alex Vadakumthala, International Ecclesial Advisor to Jesus Youth. The granting of this indulgence marks the silver jubilee of the movement’s presence and mission in the United States, offering attendees a profound opportunity for spiritual renewal, conversion, and deeper communion with the Church.

Nicole Samuel, National Coordinator of Jesus Youth USA, expressed deep gratitude for the papal blessing:

The jubilee conference, UPSTREAM, will gather youth, families, and missionaries from across the nation from December 29 to January 2 at the Ridgecrest Conference Center in Ridgecrest, North Carolina.

Participants will fulfill the usual conditions for obtaining the plenary indulgence (sacramental confession, Eucharistic communion, and prayer for the intentions of the Holy Father) alongside their active participation in the jubilee events.
Organizers have invited the global community to keep the preparations and participants in prayer, entrusting the gathering to the patronage of the Blessed Mother.
