From Shornur Railway Station to the Priesthood
Father Vivek Martin’s journey to the priesthood began in an unexpected way—he was found as a child at Shornur Railway Station by Rexy, who was involved in Jesus Youth ministry. He was taken to Attappady, where he grew up surrounded by the love and care of the community and fellow youth ministers, discovering faith and Scripture.
After completing his schooling, Father Vivek expressed his desire to become a priest. He served at Snehatheeram, run by the Camillian Fathers at Panaikulam, where he drove ambulances and cared for patients.
On August 16, he was ordained a priest by Bishop Wilfred Moras. As he begins his priestly ministry, Father Vivek hopes to dedicate his life especially to children in need and to help people draw closer to God.
