Jesus Youth Leader George Joseph Nedumala Passes Away at 65. Funeral is on 16th Monday
Kannur: George Joseph Nedumala (65), popularly known as “Rarichen Mash”, a respected member of the Kiliyanthara parish and one of the pioneering leaders of the Jesus Youth movement in northern Kerala, passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2026.
Born on July 27, 1961, to Joseph and Chinnamma of the Nedumala family in Kiliyanthara, Kannur district, George Joseph played an important role in the growth and formation of the Jesus Youth movement in the region.
He served in several key leadership roles, including *Jesus Youth Coordinator of the undivided Kannur Zone, **member of the All Kerala Family Team, **Zonal Family Coordinator, and *Base Formation Coordinator of the Thalassery Zone. Through these roles, he contributed significantly to youth formation and family ministry within the movement.
He had been in Jy since 1982. He had been battling cancer for the past two years. He retired as Headmaster of Peratta Government L.P. School.
George Joseph is survived by his wife *Lucy John, a retired teacher, and their three children: **Divya Shaji (Bangalore), **Nidhin George (Australia), and *Christeena George (Australia).
The funeral rites will commence at the residence on Monday, 16 March 2026, at 4:30 p.m. This will be followed by the burial at the cemetery of St. Mary’s Church, Kiliyanthara.
