Jesus Youth 85 – Mark 40 years of Jesus Youth

On this day, December 29, forty years ago in Kerala, India, Jesus Youth 85 came to a close with a powerful outpouring of the Holy Spirit. Participants left with a new identity and mission, saying for the first time, “I am a Jesus Youth. We are Jesus Youth.”

Today in 2025, thousands of disciples in more than 40 countries continue to live this call, witnessing a life enlivened by the Holy Spirit. As we mark 40 years of Jesus Youth 85, we give thanks for a movement that has transformed so many lives.

These very days of Jesus Youth 85, over 10,000 young people have gathered in India for the JY Jaago Conference. In the US, Overflow – high school discipleship program and families on mission in Kentucky going on now remain living signs that the Holy Spirit is alive and at work in the movement.
