From Unprepared to Commissioned: A Journey of Faith at Jesus Youth Nagaland DTP

Seven days of discipleship at St. Paul, Phesama transformed 21 young participants, strengthening their faith and commissioning them to live and share the Gospel.

Jesus Youth Nagaland successfully conducted the Discipleship Training Programme (DTP) from 1–7 July at St. Paul, Phesama, bringing together 21 young participants for a week of spiritual formation, fellowship, and missionary discipleship. The programme concluded with a commissioning ceremony, sending forth the participants with renewed commitment to live and proclaim the Gospel.

For many, the journey was deeply transformative. One participant shared that although she attended the programme without much enthusiasm and felt spiritually and mentally unprepared, she encountered the presence of the Holy Spirit from the very first day. Through prayer, Eucharistic Adoration, enriching sessions, fellowship, and reflection on the Six Pillars of Jesus Youth, she experienced spiritual renewal, healing, and a deeper relationship with Christ.

Serving on the Praise and Worship Team also became an opportunity for personal growth, helping her discover new gifts and grow in confidence, surrender, and service. The friendships formed, the shared moments of prayer, and the vibrant community life reflected Christ’s love in a tangible way.

Expressing heartfelt gratitude to Jesus Youth Nagaland, she thanked the organizers, priests, animators, and volunteers for their love, guidance, prayers, and sacrifices in creating a space where lives are transformed and hearts are drawn closer to God.

As the programme came to a close, the commissioning of the 21 participants marked not an ending but the beginning of a renewed mission—to carry the Gospel into their campuses, communities, and everyday lives.
