Kozhikode, March 14:
The second edition of the book “Agnirathathil Eriyavar” (Those Who Rose in the Chariot of Fire), which narrates the missionary zeal of five young missionaries who lost their lives in the Pookkiparambu bus tragedy in Malappuram on March 11, 2001, will be released at a memorial gathering in Kozhikode.
The book is written by noted author and motivational speaker Jacob Kochery and published by Kairos Media, the media wing of Jesus Youth.
The book launch will take place during a remembrance meeting on March 14 at St. Thomas Auditorium in Koorachundu, Kozhikode. Rev. Fr. Thomas Tharayil, Deputy Secretary of the Kerala Catholic Bishops’ Council (KCBC), will deliver the keynote address at the event. Baptist Sunny Gudino, India Coordinator of Jesus Youth, will receive the first copy of the book.
Members of Jesus Youth from across Kerala are expected to attend the gathering.
The Pookkiparambu bus tragedy occurred while a group returning from an evangelization mission at Rajapuram parish in Idukki district met with an accident when their bus overturned and caught fire. The incident claimed the lives of 44 people, including five members of the Jesus Youth movement.
The revised second edition of the 120-page book is being published by Kairos Media to commemorate the memory of the five Jesus Youth members on the 25th anniversary of their martyrdom and to recall their dedication to missionary work.
A short video prepared by Kairos Studio will also be released during the function.
