Ajna George – Life rooted in Christ becomes a powerful beacon of hope.


Thykkoodam, Kochi:
An atmosphere of faith, and inspiration surrounds St. Raphael’s Church Cemetery, Thykkoodam, as large number of people visit the tomb of Ajna George Muttungal, whose short yet luminous life has become a testimony of courage and unwavering trust in God.
Born on 2 April 1994 in Kochi, Ajna was a parishioner of St. Patrick’s Church, Vyttila, under the Archdiocese of Verapoly. An outstanding student of Christ the King Convent School and St. Teresa’s High School, Ernakulam, she went on to complete her B.Com and M.Com at Sacred Hearts College, Thevara. At the remarkable age of 24, she was appointed Assistant Professor in the Department of Commerce at the same institution, inspiring countless young minds with her brilliance and compassion.
Ajna was also a vibrant leader in the Jesus Youth Movement, serving as Campus Coordinator at SH College, a member of the Ernakulam Teens’ Team, and part of the All Kerala Central Music Team. Even while courageously battling osteosarcoma for five years, her spirit never wavered, radiating hope, joy, and deep faith.
Ajna entered eternal glory on 21 January 2022.
As part of the remembrance, an exhibition will be held from 18 to 22 January, with a special commemorative program on the 21st evening at St. Raphael’s Church, Thykkoodam. The event will include Holy Mass, a ceremonial at the tomb, choir performances, praise and worship, a theatre presentation, personal sharings by priests and friends.
