Rev. Fr Aloysius Puthiyaparambil CMI (88) , a member of CMI Provincial House, Kottayam, belonging to St Joseph Province, Kottayam was called to eternal reward today (04-03-2026).

Kottayam: Rev. Fr. Aloysius Puthiyaparambil CMI (88), a member of the CMI Provincial House, Kottayam, belonging to St. Joseph Province, passed away on March 4, 2026. He was widely respected for his long years of dedicated priestly ministry, particularly his compassionate service to the sick and his leadership in the field of education.

Born on December 15, 1937, in Nedumkunnam parish in the Changanacherry Diocese, Fr. Aloysius joined the CMI congregation and made his First Profession on May 16, 1960, followed by his Final Profession on May 16, 1963. He was ordained a priest on December 18, 1972.

Fr. Aloysius served the Church and society in various capacities. He was the retired Principal of KE College, Mannanam, where he contributed significantly to academic and spiritual life on campus. He also extended strong support to the Jesus Youth movement among students during his tenure at the college.

He is especially remembered for his devoted pastoral service as chaplain of Kottayam Medical College, where he ministered to patients and families by offering sacramental services and spiritual care around the clock.

His mortal remains will be brought to St. Antony’s CMI Bhavan, Puthupally, on Friday, March 6, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. The funeral liturgy will begin at 2:00 p.m., followed by the concluding funeral rites at St. Antony’s Church, Poomattam (Puthupally).
