Milk Development Department Media Award for Seby Malliyekkal

Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala State Government has announced the Media Awards of the Department of Dairy Development. Seby Malliyekkal, Senior Sub Editor of the Deepika Thrissur unit, has won the award for Best Feature Report. The award carries a cash prize of ₹25,000, a citation, and a plaque.

He was selected for his report titled “A Milky Smile That Defeated Deafness”, published in Deepika on March 3, 2024, on World Hearing Day. The award will be presented by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan at the inaugural function of the State Dairy Meet to be held on the 19th of this month at the Ashramam Maidan, Kollam.

Seby Malliyekkal is the son of late Paulson and Selina of Kadupassery Malliyekkal and resides at Avittathur. His wife is Anjil, a teacher at Karuppadanna Government Higher Secondary School. Children: Anna Therese (student at UC College, Aluva) and Agnes Mary (student at Don Bosco LP School, Irinjalakuda).
