Marking Four Decades of Grace: Pilgrimages Commence Ahead of Milestone Jesus Youth International Conference
The countdown to a landmark milestone in the life of Jesus Youth has formally begun with the commencement of conference-related pilgrimages, paving the way for the upcoming Jesus Youth International Conference set to open on October 20.
Around 1,100 delegates from across the globe are expected to gather for the international conference, which carries historic significance for the global missionary movement. The gathering commemorates two defining milestones: 40 years of the Jesus Youth movement—celebrating four decades of youth-led evangelization and mission—and the 10th anniversary of its Canonical Approval by the Holy See as an International Private Association of the Christian Faithful.
Ahead of the grand assembly, delegates have set out on spiritual journeys. The first delegation of 85 pilgrims embarked on October 12 and is currently traveling to the Marian pilgrimage destination of Medjugorje.
A second pilgrimage contingent of 145 participants will commence their journey on October 15, engaging in a period of intense prayer and reflection prior to the conference proceedings. Together, the two groups comprise 230 pilgrims entering into deep preparation for the days ahead.
Organizers have called upon the global community, families, and well-wishers to accompany both pilgrimage batches in prayer:
“We kindly request your prayers for both groups, that they may have a safe and blessed journey, experience God’s presence throughout their pilgrimage, and return with hearts renewed in faith, hope, and joy.”
With the twin jubilees anchoring this year’s gathering, both the ongoing pilgrimages and the upcoming conference on October 20 stand as an expression of thanksgiving for four decades of grace, forming young missionary disciples for the universal Church.
