Prayer Appeal: Gianna Remains in Critical Condition Following Serious Accident

Gianna (22), daughter of Preetha and Shaji of the Jesus Youth family, remains in critical condition after a serious accident that occurred last Saturday morning.

She underwent emergency brain surgery on the same day due to severe injuries. Although there were initial signs of improvement following the surgery, her condition has since become more complicated. Doctors report that she developed a pulmonary embolism and is also battling a chest infection. She remains on ventilator support, and treatment options are currently limited because of the brain bleed, which prevents the use of clot-dissolving therapies.

Gianna was pursuing her ACCA studies at an institute in Calicut. She is one of twin daughters in the family. Her twin sister, who had been away on mission, is returning home today. Their elder brother, Noel, is in his tenth year of formation towards becoming a Capuchin priest.

Family members continue to place their trust in prayer during this difficult time. Preetha shared the family’s situation today, while Shaji was spending time in adoration before the Blessed Sacrament.

The Jesus Youth community and all well-wishers are requested to keep Gianna and her family in their prayers. Let us entrust them to the loving intercession of Mother Mary and offer one Hail Mary for Gianna’s healing and strength for the entire family.
