Jesus Youth Southeast Asia Mission Consultation Concludes with Renewed Evangelization Vision in Phnom Penh

Phnom Penh, Cambodia, May 31, 2026: The Jesus Youth Southeast Asia (SEA) Mission Consultation concluded on May 31 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, after two days of prayer, reflection, and discernment that brought together 25 delegates from across the region.

Held on May 30–31, the consultation served as a significant platform for mission leaders and representatives to share experiences, reflect on the realities of evangelization in their respective countries, and seek God’s guidance for the future missionary direction of the movement in Southeast Asia.

The gathering was attended by Dr. Midhun Paul, International Coordinator of Jesus Youth, whose insights, encouragement, and guidance enriched the discussions and discernment process. His presence throughout the consultation provided valuable direction as participants explored opportunities and challenges facing the mission in the region.

The meeting was further strengthened by the participation of George Devassy and Seema Thomas from the International Mission Team. Their accompaniment and contributions helped deepen the shared vision for mission and foster greater collaboration among the countries represented.

A central feature of the consultation was the celebration of the Holy Eucharist, with Holy Masses presided over by Fr. Pedro Emilio. These liturgical celebrations offered participants moments of spiritual nourishment, unity, and renewal.

As a fitting conclusion to the consultation, delegates undertook a pilgrimage across the Mekong River to the Church of the Queen of Peace. There, they entrusted the mission countries of Southeast Asia to the intercession of Our Lady of Mekong, praying for renewed missionary zeal, unity, and divine guidance for the region.

The consultation concluded with a renewed commitment among participants to work together in advancing the mission of Jesus Youth across Southeast Asia, responding faithfully to the Church’s call to evangelization and missionary discipleship.
