Berlin Community Embraces a Month of Grace with “Rosary at Home,” Culminating in a Sacred “Rosary Night” of Prayer and Unity
Berlin, Germany – This October, in celebration of the Month of the Rosary, Jesus Youth Berlin’s Intercession Ministry initiated “Rosary at Home,” uniting people across Berlin in nightly Rosary prayers and fellowship. The month-long gathering hosted in homes around the city created a unique space for spiritual reflections and connections that brought together students, families, and friends, including those from non-Catholic backgrounds.
The idea originated three years ago when Rinto, a JY from Berlin, posed a simple yet profound question: “Why can’t we do here, among our Jesus Youth homes, what we do in our parishes in India?” Since then, the initiative has expanded, reaching other Jesus Youth prayer groups in cities like Magdeburg, Chemnitz, and Halle in Eastern Germany, where similar gatherings now take place.
Each evening, participants gathered to pray, accompanied by a statue of Mother Mary that was generously loaned by the Sisters of Mother Teresa and traveled from home to home. The month-long journey concluded on October 31 with a memorable Rosary Night. The event began with a Holy Mass at St. Joseph’s Church in Wedding, followed by a candlelit procession to a park in Berlin’s Wedding district. A radiant Rosary display of 53 candles, a cross, and the statue of Mother Mary created a triangular structure that illuminated the night. Youths , families, and locals joined under the open sky, praying in German, English, and Malayalam—a beautiful reflection of unity in diversity.
The evening also featured the premiere of Divine Touch, a short film by Jesus Youth Media Ministry that celebrates the lifestyle, fellowship, and faith journey of the Jesus Youth community. Following the screening, a commemorative poster was presented to Jibin Mathews Jojo, the film’s director, writer, and editor, in appreciation of his creative dedication. All actors in the film were members of the movement, adding a personal touch to the story.
Jesus Youth Berlin extends sincere thanks to all participants for their devotion and support, and to those who could not attend, know that you were remembered in prayer. May this initiative continue to inspire faith and unity through the intercession of the Rosary.
